Attila Antal is a theater and film director, composer, and theater scholar. He completed his studies in multimedia directing at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, with his diploma film Igra in 2008. In 2010, he defended his master’s thesis (Political Aspects in Postdramatic Theater: The Recent Work of András Urban, published in 2011, Fokus, Subotica), in the field of Theory of Dramatic Arts and Media at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Since 2008, he has been professionally involved in theater and film, and as a director, composer, author, dramaturg, set designer, and performer, he has participated in more than 35 theater productions and a dozen short fiction and documentary films. He has worked in Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Albania, and Sweden. He has received numerous awards for direction, music, and short films at national and international festivals. He is the founder of the Institute for New Theatre. He is fluent in Hungarian, Serbian, and English.
